HOUSING

Before characters are able to settle into homes they build, they are offered places to live in the House Quarters. Characters are welcome to pick based solely on what kind of housing they're most comfortable in, as each House has different accommodations to offer. The nature of each House's accommodations can be found below.

Please note: Characters are not required or requested to join any of the Houses, and accommodations are meant to be chosen based on what would make your character most comfortable and feel most at home, not House affiliation.

HOUSE STONE

House Stone lives in a system of underground dwellings, primarily one and two bedroom apartments with small kitchenettes with wood stoves and ice boxes. Each apartment has a fireplace in each room, exceedingly comfortable soft beds, and the general area is kept slightly warmer than other housing complexes. The walls and furniture is made of formed and rough-hewn stone, with the furniture kitted out with thick, soft padding.

There is a large communal room with a huge fireplace, desks with writing supplies, oversize stuffed couches and chairs to sit and chat in, and a large table with chairs for communal eating if desired. There are also ample amounts of games to be played - darts, cards, board games, tabletop sports games, just about any type of game you can think of.

HOUSE SUN

Located in the upper stories of the Ivory Castle, the dwellings of House Sun are large and airy, with high ceilings and lots of windows to let the light in. The dwellings are generally one or two bedroom apartments that are a little more on the modern end, with sleek wood stoves and ice boxes. Every apartment has a desk and office area with ample supplies for writing, and a mini-library stocked with non-fiction books and research materials.

There is a large communal room that has a fireplace and the second-largest library in the castle after the main library. There are more desks located near the library walls, and a fashionable but comfortable couch and armchairs scattered about in front of the fireplace. There are also several reading nooks by the windows.

HOUSE RIVER

House River's accommodations are located on the main ground floor of the Ivory Castle, with a good view of the ocean that the castle borders on. The apartments for House River have only one or two bedrooms, a small sitting area with a fireplace, and a desk. The quarters are comfortable and decorated specifically with the aim of being soothing and comforting, with a small waterfall inset in the sitting room wall to provide the constant soft sound of running water.

In place of in-apartment kitchenettes, the House River common room has a large kitchen with two large wood stoves, a massive fireplace with a cauldron hung over it, and two ice boxes intended for communal cooking and eating. The common room also includes a large table for eating together as well as comfortable couches and armchairs arranged around a smaller fireplace. Through the middle of the common room, there is a small artificial river that can be easily crossed on a large number of stepping stones or over a small bridge.

HOUSE LIFE

Also located on the main floor of the Ivory Castle, House Life's dwellings are paneled with wood and decorated in warm shades of moss green. One wall of each apartment is entirely comprised of windows lined with shelves containing dozens of plants and living in one of these apartments includes the responsibility of caring for them (there's a guide included, don't worry!). Each apartment has a kitchenette equipped with wood stove and ice box, one or two bedrooms, and a sitting room with a fireplace and a desk.

The common room for House Life is inside a giant conservatory and sun room, complete with more plants, a large fireplace, comfortable rustic furniture, a small library that's mostly stocked with books on plants and farming, and a long table for communal eating if so desired. There is also a small area where residents can repot plants, make cuttings, and experiment with plants. There is a large door that leads to an indoor garden as well, dotted with benches where residents can sit and enjoy the ambiance.
